Melanie Cristescu

Melanie's life long obsession with beauty began the first time she watched her mother apply makeup - it was love at first sight. Fast forward to high school - when she rented VHS tapes (true story) and checked out library books about applying makeup. After raising brilliant, well-fed and loved kids that had no interest in anything about makeup, she went to work. She began her career at Sephora. Melanie was the Beauty Studio Coordinator and Class Facilitator where she taught clients how to apply makeup. Soon after, she was promoted to the store's Mentoring Facilitator where she mentored other facilitators to run their classes successfully.

For years Melanie did makeup for private clients and bridal parties - and loved it. In 2017 Melanie began working on more editorial, and video productions. Soon she was working on videos for Migos, Tony Braxton, Backstreet Boys, and Nikki Minaj. All while teaching Beauty Artistry classes at the Michael Vincent Academy, where she educates and mentors the next generation of makeup artists. She started working for Smashbox and was soon adding key makeup artist on fitness shoots and commercial video productions to her list of accomplishments.

Melanie’s passion for making all women (and the occasional man!) feel beautiful shines (in the most perfectly matted way) and comes through the lens of the camera, and the moving images.

Melanie loves makeup in all colors of the rainbow and will talk about "the smoky eye" or "subtle contouring" while in the grocery line, or while working on a music video and applying mascara on the beat.  There is no bridal party too small, no backup dancer crew too big, no skin she cannot get glowing, no hair she cannot conquer with her suitcase of favorite products.
